Flinders Ranges
The beating heart of the Outback

A dive into Australia's geological and cultural history
The Flinders Ranges, a wild jewel of the South Australian Outback, offer a fascinating immersion into a world sculpted by time. At dawn, Wilpena Pound lights up in golden hues, revealing its immense natural amphitheater carved by millions of years of erosion. On the winding tracks, the landscapes change with each passing mile, alternating between ochre mountains, desert valleys, and deep gorges.
Further afield, Angorichina Village appears like a lost oasis amidst the rugged terrain. This small, isolated haven is the starting point for exceptional hikes through the hidden gorges and jagged ridges of the Flinders Mountains. Taking the Parachilna Gorge track, you pass through a veritable open-air geological museum, where rock strata tell the story of 500 million years of history.
